Cylindrical glass beads, line of cabochon moonstone briolettes, faceted blue topaz briolettes
"Living outside the City in New Mexico has enhanced my awareness of changing light, seasonal color and events in the night sky, especially those around the moon. This series honors my father, who, on occasion, painted celestial themes, including the sun and moon...Blue Moon is also a Winter moon, but seen in early morning, before sunrise, where the surroundings are blue-white." - Claire Kahn
Recalling the bruskbeginnings of morning, just before sunlight touches the landscape's eager terrain, Claire Kahn scripts the moment in a palpable design of adornment. Skillfully, the artist employs contrasts between hues of blue and white tocoax the eye with energetic curiosity as the progression moves. Around the piece's perimeter, the artist embellishes its body with the sparkle and gleam of moonstone and topaz, echoing the gentle choir of blue and white that is left on the break of day. Admiring the work around the wrist, Claire's expression is enough to soothe and settle the soul.
This piece is part of Claire Kahn's mini series,Moon River.
